The Educational Garden at River Legacy Living Science Center

The Children's University

The Children’s University, located at 4621 Park Springs, Arlington, has requested our Club’s attention at the school. The old “raised beds” are no longer “raised” but have dry rotted to a point that they need to be replaced. Mark Bowers is meeting with the teaching staff at the school to get an idea of what our club can do and the participation by the parents. Our club has committed to spend up to $300.00 to install one 4’ x 12’ cinder block raised bed. Additional club participation will depend on the financial and physical participation by the parents. UPDATE: the parents have so far raised $800 towards the project! Click here to visit the website.
The Educational Garden at River Legacy Living Science Center is an educational community garden to serve as an outdoor classroom for the community where hands-on workshops on gardening, irrigation, nutrition and conservation can be presented. The garden is a 544 square foot space with four raised planting beds that yield 232 square foot of planting space. Site: River Legacy Living Science Center in North Arlington, 703 NW Green Oaks Blvd., Arlington, Texas 76006 Leadership: River Legacy Foundation, Arlington Men’s Garden Club, Arlington Master Composters, and Arlington Parks & Recreation Department.
